Our Conductor

Monica joined the Firdaus Orchestra in August 2022. She is responsible for bringing to life the vision of the Orchestra’s mentor A.R. Rahman in all recordings and performances. Monica has an illustrious background in music education and performance. A 2013 graduate of Havana’s Higher Institute of Art, she was a student of the eminent Cuban composer and conductor Guido López- Gavilán. Since moving to the UAE Monica has worked to engage, support and inspire young musicians and artists, while implementing and developing music curriculums to the customs and traditions to the United Arab Emirates. She is an accomplished Choral Conductor and Symphony Orchestra Conductor, with international experience throughout the Middle East, Asia and the Caribbean. She has conducted the Symphony Orchestra of Santiago de Cuba, The Youth Orchestra of “Amadeo Roldan’s Conservatory” and The Youth Orchestra of “Esteban Sales Conservatory”.
